| "The Closest You'll find To A Bed On The Ocean....!" |
Unlike many Inn owners who find their way into inn keeping after making
life style changes, the Inn keeper of Cape Arundel Inn, Jack Nahil is a
career restaurateur and Inn keeper as well as a not so often working artist. After graduating from Massachusetts College of Art he bought the old Forest Hills Hotel in Kennebunkport. In 1973 he opened it as White Barn Inn, an acclaimed restaurant and country Inn. He ran White Barn Inn for fifteen years, selling it in 1988. After six years of painting and restoring a Florida house, he returned to the restaurant business and opened Salt Marsh Tavern in Kennebunkport. In nineteen-ninety-five he put Cape Arundel Inn under contract and finally took possession of it in nineteen-ninety-seven. He and his staff take great pride in their property and in creating environments of comfort, relaxation, great food and drink and abiding friendliness. His executive chef, Rich Lemoine has been with him since White Barn Inn days, as has most of his staff. The inn keeper maintains a working art studio in an old mill building in Biddeford, and will soon have a web page of his paintings. His paintings and those of other artists are available for sale at the inn. |
