"The Closest You'll Find To A Bed On The Ocean !"Bold Ocean Views !
We have been twice featured in Maine Home and Design magazine. See Innkeeper pages and dining pages for the full articles. We have been awarded the Wine Spectator award of excellence. Over and over again we have been praised and awarded five stars by Maine’s Portland Press Herald, featured in Seacoast Living magazine, Tourist News newspapers, and Down East magazine with a stunning restaurant review, as well as receiving the New England Diner Platinum award from New England Cable TV's "TV Diner" with Bob Kostas. Our dining room is lovely and most often features a live pianist playing delightfully nostalgic, as well as current, dinner music. Our Inn is filled with a show-stopping collection of mostly Maine art. Maine Home and Design magazine says we rival a small New England museum. Each of our rooms features either a king, a queen or two queen beds, ceiling fans, irons and boards, most with fireplace, inroom telephones, delightful spa grade Gilchrist and Soames English toiletries and televisions and most televisions are flat screen. Beach towels, chairs and beach passes to our wonderful beaches are available. Our team is available to provide coffee or tea service or sodas throughout the day Our front porch is indescribable. The Atlantic stretches out in front of us to the horizon line – sometimes docile, sometimes wild and furious. Our high on a knoll, but close vantage point leaves us dry, safe and awed. In 113 years, we have never been struck by an angry sea. When the full moon or harvest moon rises above the horizon, and with it’s reflection on the water, it takes one’s breath away. We have witnessed an entire dining room applaud as the full impact of it becomes apparent. A day touring or relaxing on one of our beaches, then a pre-dinner cocktail on the front porch as day fades, a gracious and wonderful dinner with Muriel playing favorite tunes in the background, then onto a post dinner cordial on the porch wrapped in a fleece blanket against the cool Maine evening, and finally ending the day on crisp, freshly ironed sheets with a fire in the fireplace and the ocean music playing through the window. Awesome! Wait – we also have a wonderful team, a truly great chef, beautifulrooms and a sublime location and setting.
